I am interested in Northern California Sodas, beers and meds.  Also interested in Jakes from anywhere but especially N.Cal.  No Crowntop sodas though, just hutches, blob tops, etc.

Gaining access to a site is a simple as an authentic press pass. It's amazing that with the right credentials one can exacavate a site, conduct interviews, write a feature or two for publication and in addition to the cash for the article(s), preserve history for all to appreciate.

I heard about one at the old Concord Naval Base that is posted but easily accessed by boat.  I have been told that it produces a lot of old Owl Drug Store bottles and that during low tide there is more to be found.  I don't have a boat and have never personally been there.

Since you are located in Windsor, look up a business called "Rogers Detectors" in Santa Rosa.  I found him when I worked in Santa Rosa and purchased a metal detector from him.  He had a few nice bottles displayed and told me he has "boxes" of old beers that he dug up in the 70's when he worked for the city digging up the old streets.  He said he was interested in selling them but he kept flaking on me.  This was about 5 years ago.  Maybe you will have better luck with him.  He's an old guy and doesn't "collect" bottles, it's a shame he has 'em packed away from view.  His business is located at his house but I think he was listed in the phone book.
