Last week after work I was just killing time I decided to check out some old headstons at the Bennington village cemetary and just by chance one of the first stones I head to was most of the Norton family, They made many different kinds of stoneware, I've seen alot of them on here. I'm sure most fo you are familiar with Norton stoneware
http://littlebrownjug.net/history_norton_pottery.html
I found the stones of the founders sons Luman (1785-1858) John (1787-1850) and Luman Norton's son Julius (1809-1861) all of which worked in or ran the Pottery where the peaces where produced. next time I go there Ill take some pictures. It was so random, coming accross it because I had no idea where they were buried ( the Norton's) and it was basicly the same feeling as when I randomly discover the digging spots where I find peaces of there pottery , they made some beautiful peaces.

I viewed alot of the Norton stoneware last sunday at the Bennington Museum. They had a super nice collection. Im not a collector of stoneware but do own one small Norton crock I picked up at a garage sale for $6.00. I would like to own some of theVermont made muskets that were at the museum. I also saw a very early olive pontil Green Mountain Renovator there that is a in my dreams bottle.
