I have a 1956 7 oz.  ACL Squeeze bottle from Squeeze Bottling Works in Houlton, ME.  The ACL colors are yellow and black.  Is this color combo common?  I thought Squeeze bottles were usually black and white ACL or maybe yellow and white (I have a 12 oz. green bottle from the same company in black and white).  Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks - Sam

Hey Sam.  I collect all sorts of ACLs, but the Squeeze bottles are one of my favorites.  The yellow and black ACL version was only found in Maine.  I have seen versions from both Houlton and Dexter. The price for this color combo can bring anywhere from $30-$100.  At least that is what i have seen them go for on ebay.

I would like to see a pic of the b/w green glass 12 ouncer you have (hint hint).  I have a 7oz b/w-green glass from Maine, but have never seen the 12 ounce version.  I'd pay good money for a 12 ouncer if you find another.

Thanks for your info on the Squeeze bottle - I appreciate it.

Squeeze is a great ACL, that pic of the two kids sitting side by side is a classic.

I'm glad we're having this discussion on Squeeze bottles, I went out to the garage to get my green 12 oz. bottle to take a pic only to find that it was actually a 7 oz.  I was at a fellow collector's house a few weeks ago and he's selling off most of his bottle collectionn, he had a green 12 oz. but I told him I was all set, thinking mine was the same size.  I thought it was a little pricey as well at $50 but guess I better pick it up after all (you'll be first in line acls if I do find another).

Actually the 28 oz. bottle in the pic below is my favorite, also from Houlton, ME.  The black/white one is from Gardiner, ME.

acls, could you check on your Dexter Squeeze for me?  I don't even have any of the bottlers from that town as bottling Squeeze.

Attached is my Squeeze group shot.

I finally got the 12 oz. green Squeeze from Houlton, ME – it’s pictured here with the 7 oz. bottle.  The odd Squeeze family from Maine is now complete – but wait, now there’s a green with yellow ACL on ebay now, another variant!  It’s what makes bottle collecting an interesting and on-going quest – something new keeps popping up.

Wow Sam.  The 10 ouncer is a beaut!  That one is ofiicially added to my wish list.

I saw that y/b ACL on green glass on ebay.  I thought it might be a stained w/b one.  Any thoughts?

Never fear Pauly. I'd have to have a shotgun pressed to my head before I bid on a pop bottle. Even then maybe no...

Hi Matt –  I believe that the green bottle listed on the bay is a yellow ACL.  I’ve attached a pic of a duplicate clear Squeeze bottle I have with the yellow/black ACL (from the same bottler in Houlton).  As you can see in the pic, where the yellow has faded it has a white base underneath (kinda makes it look like they’re sitting looking at the full moon).  I’d say the one on the bay is similarly faded. I’ve never seen a green one with that color combo before but a month ago I hadn’t seen or heard of a green 12 oz. either, so why not!

As far as sodas go, I like them all – squats, blob tops, hutches, embossed, paper labels and ACLs – they are all special in their own way to me.

Sam-  I meant to say that 12 ouncer is a beaut.  That is one nice looking bottle.

So it looks like that ebay bottle is a y/b on green glass.  That's really exciting.  Now I have 2 new versions to add to the wish list.
