These empty bottles were found in a cellar in 1969. The cellar had not been opened from at least 24 years prior to discovery. Enterprising painter deciphered look of label by observing two differenly damaged labels and painted them on the bottles. No seams visible, except for one horizontal one on the shoulder from where the bottle starts tapering. Lip seems hand applied, base is reasonbaly smooth. Bottles are definitely hand-made but that could be because of their size. Bottles are 32 inches high and 7.5 inches wide at the base. The label mentions makers name but they don' t seem to be in existence anymore. The address is of a place now known as Waterloo Barracks in London on Tower Hill. I believe that the makers went out of business when German made pilsner lager became unpopular in England after the start of the Second World War.
