My Old Cabin Bitters bottle arrived two days ago that I had won on eBay.The bottle is in excellent condition other then some chipping on the lip which I repaired.I give myself a B-. in the restoration. The original LTC top was very drippy and I tried to acheive the same effect in the area that was missing glass only at the very top of the lip. These are listed by Watson in his book as having a 6 star rating,Ring and Ham in their Bitters book list it as rare. This bottle is multi colored through out as it is dark amber, orange amber and very pale yellow amber in the corners.

What did you use to repair the lip? It at least seems to colour match the bottle, unlike many repairs i see. Doesnt look perfect, but heck, from a few feet away, it at least doesnt jusmp off the bottle at you. Good job, and nice bottle!

I used a strong two part expoxy as the glue, and I used believe or not clear amber plastic melted down to putty state and melted it into the area with a small  gas torch I have.

if you have the patience you can use the existing part of the lip to make a mold and then use that mold to form the missing part of the lip.

I did make a clay mold impression and swung it around. Then I melted the plastic into the mold. When I removed it I should have left it alone because one side was higher then the other.I have since remelted it three times and here is the latest and also it has been sanded and reheated to take away the sanding marks even though I used 1000 grit sand paper.
