Here is a Listerine bottle I found, looks like it would hold about 2 ounces, the cork top is missing but seems to be in good shape. It says Listerine on top and Lamber pharmacal company lower on the side, has a triangle on the bottom. I thought that it could be a rare find?

Hate to break it to ya... That's one of the most common bottles you can dig...

Still cool though, homeowners like 'em because Listerine is still used.

Sadly, not rare. I found one of these early on too, and thought the same thing.

I got one of these. When were they made? I don't care about how common they are, I just like to think about how old they are.

The cork top ones are from the 1920s-30s.  ~Jim

The blown ones are much earlier. Dug one like the one pictured in my 1890's dump, and a large sized one in an 1880's-1890's layer of a privy. Common nonetheless.

You're correct, Wheel, they do go earlier. I was thinking of the hundreds of ABM cork ones that I used to dig in dumps when I was younger. They must have switched to the screw caps sometime in the 30s, as I remember finding both types together in 30s dumps. The screw cap embossed ones were around into the 1980s in glass (I remember them). At least there will still be a few things for diggers to look for a hundred years from now  ~Jim
