Hi, just joined the forum, love all the new things I'm learning! I have an old stoneware bottle, at least I think,and it's got me going bonkers trying to find out about it. any info you have would really help me to learn about this piece. It was given to my dad as a lamp.

Here's another shot. There is no mark on the bottom, or anywhere else, except the front.

stoneware? i don't know about that,the pic is hard to see but looks like glass to me.is that a label or is it made into the bottle?? nice bottle maybe take some close ups and some better pics thanks and by the way welcome ,matt   ok your new pic shows it is "in" the bottle but it is still hard to see

now that i have seen the base it looks stoneware ,but something is just too new looking to me. it does have a great lip . i have no idea what your bottle is but it looks newer than "stuff" i see that is like 1880 or before.just my two cents ,matt

wyidorchid: your stonwere bottle,is most likey,from europe, and was probly made in the late victoren era.( 1870s to 1900 ) the bottel was made in a mold and the sprig work was aplide will the the pice was still in green were.a wax was applied to the artwork then diped in the glaze then fired.
