Does anyone remember this bottle...? I'm including a link which refers to it, but the original thread links embedded in it are no longer available (that's too bad,too...)...

Anyway, I don't remember all the details myself... but someone claimed to have  unearthed a genuine Lancaster Bitters... There was a flurry of activity... Supposedly, there was talk of offers of big-time $$$... We all kept after the guy to give us more photos, and he promised to... But, after awhile, we got zippo from him...

I guess nobody remembers this or nobody cares... I just thought it was interesting... Here's this bottle supposedly unearthed that looks crude and old... But wait... Everyone thought this was an imaginary bottle, not even a repro... And there were serious discussions and big buck interest in it if it proved to be genuine... But the trail ran cold... Ah, well... This trail is running cold as well...

I guess so Ron, I would tend to think these are just fantasy bottles with the lack of talk about them here, but I guess you never know.

Yeah, Joe... It was in Ohio... Thanks for the memory jog!!!

I don't remember his handle, and since we're locked out from the original thread, we can't get it that way... I was just so startled to see that bottle in the first place... I need closure here!!! Where's LobesPierre? He remembers everything...

Cool story on the bottle and the way it was found.  Good memory on this one, Joe.  Are you part elephant?  All this time, I didn't know all I had to do was feed you a peanut butter sandwich for dinner and you'd be in heaven!

Joe is from Newark, and sent me a message about digging a dump with him in the near future.  I'm getting 2 of his finds confused, and I'm not sure which one bit the dust, but if yall remember, he also had a labeled pontil ink worth quite a few ducketts that an old man gave him in a box of attic finds.  I know that one of those two bottles ended up in the hands of his little one, and made a beautiful arc as it was thrown to the concrete below.  I'll see if I can call him and find out the details.

I would love to know whatever happened to this bottle. Do the wheaton bottles look as crude as the bottle does in the pic ? Even the embossing ?

I had one of the fake ones.  Made in Taiwan....the embossing looked crude and I think it had a spelling error.  See if I can find that post....

just ran across this post. I have three of the jaundice bitters bottles. All three are a little different (spelling errors, different embossing on bottom, color). Yep just fantasy bottles, kinda purdy to look at though.
