May not be much but I love this bottle. When you take a really close look at it and turn it slow its  almost mesmerizing. It looks warped but it is perfectly balanced. I really can't explain it to good but its pretty cool. An optical illusion you might say.
The only marking on it is a three on the bottom. I dug it up the other day at a sight from around 1910.
If I could find out what this is I would be very greatful.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
No idea what it is, but I love it.  It's kind of like those Moroccan lamps you see from time to time that are all faceted.  Great find.

I'll tell ya Paul its the coolest thing. All those points and theres not one chip on the entire bottle. Every point is smooth as silk. You would think after being in the ground for nearly a hundred years there would be a little damage on this piece.

That is pretty cool. IT would probably look nice in a sunny window. Maybe fill it with some colored water? Nice bottle!

i would recommend a bottle brush with soap and water, but if you do the thing with the sand dont fill completely or else it doesnt shake around as well  put about 1/4 full of sand to about 1/2 or less of water then shake vigorously

Cat litter works to put a little in, add some water shake, keep putting dry stuff in when it turns to gray water, repete. Rick

Very cool. Looks like it was wadded up and thrown away only to be found and sort of straightened out.

It has alot of corners. Start with a brush and try to get most of it out. Let it soak for a couple of day first.

Hey thanks for all your help guys, I discovered something else about this. I noticed that alll of the facets are indented except for one. Thats what was making it looked warped.
and that the bottle was made to lay on its side.

maybe the flat side  was for a label rather than for laying on its side?

I would try some Cascade or other granulated dishwasher soap, a little water to make it slushy and an old toothbrush to get inside those corners....providing you can get the toothbrush in it.  Normally I use this method and use BBs to shake around inside, but I don't think the BBs would work well with all those inside corners. Sometimes ripping up those green scrubber cloths and pushing them around with a small tool works well. Cool bottle, maybe it's a salt or peper shaker.  By the way, does it have a ground top? Just curious.

No I don't have the top . I was thinking salt or pepper shaker myself but I think Spencer was right. The flat side was probably for a label. I would think a salt or pepper shaker of the period would just be generic with no label, and this bottle is 6 inches tall.
