The labels aren't 100% but I would have been happy with one without the labels and a missing neck.

Thank you, I have seen two of them in the last 4 years go on the block, one on Glass Works and the other on American Bottle. They both brought over 6K after it was said in done but they had just about perfect labels. As I mentioned earlier, I would have been happy to have one sans labeling with a missing neck!

Thank you, did you notice the bronze Bouret statue in the back ground, it's Diana. Additionally the balusters were hand painted by "you know who"!

Well, now that you mention it.. being an artist and a painter, I couldn't help but be touched by the background in your photos!
The sculpture looks really heavy.. it's made of metal, no? Those ballisters, all shiny and clean and only moderate brush stroke texture.. what craftsmen do you prefer? I want their cards.. also whoever painted that Aura™ crap on those walls deserves a presidential pardon!

Well, that is one slick bottle, great score! Approximately when was that bitters produced? The labels are very nice, but I can't make out where it is from (or where it was distributed from anyway).

How was it obtained? Did you pull it out of someone's attic?

Late 1800's vintage and oddly enough many of those bitters came out of Ohio.

I was fortunate enough to be given right of first refusal before she was placed at auction or brought to a show, contrary to what some people on the forum have said, there are still some people with a heart and a conscience out there, Jim is one of them.

Milk glass from that era almost never show up while digging or otherwise. To find an embossed bitters bottle with a label in any condition is remarkable. This is truly a wonderful bottle and worth displaying proudly.

I am cursed as well as blessed, I have chosen a category that at best is difficult expand upon and lucky enough that people on the forum as well as others all over the world know of my quest for these milk glass bottles and offer them to me first.

Great bottle Gary! I'm pretty sure a lot of Pa. Dutch and Amish-german settled there in Ohio.......

There was life in Ohio before the Drew Cary show?

Are milk glass bottles rare in general, or is it just certain ones?

Hmmm, I guess the rare ones are rare and the common ones, not so much. The way I see it, due to the cost of the batch, there were only so many commissioned to begin with. I have about 450 mouth blown examples and I know of a couple dozen that I don't have, then there are the ones that I don't know of.

I hope that answered your question.
