U_J ~ (Regarding keeping my eyes peeled for another Root 17) "Will do!" However, I have to confess the main reason I paid so much for the one in question is because I was getting tired of having to open so many different eBay listings just to read through the descriptions and try to determine which company made which 1915/1917. As you likely know, most eBay "titles" leave a lot to be desired and usually don't give a lot of specific information. Thus, it takes forever to open and read each one. I contacted Bill Porter about my bottle because I wasn't sure what the 1GT stood for. He said the number 1 appears on most of the 1915 bottles Root produced (and not just the 1917s but later ones as well) and is a "type" code. He said the GT is for the mold itself. But he didn't say exactly what the letters stood for, (if anything specific). My guess would be that the G stands "Glass." (But this is just a guess). Bill also informed me that no one he knows of (not even himself) has ever done any detailed research to try and determine exactly how many different city/state Root 1917s there are. He said it would be a good project for someone like myself. However, I didn't have the heart to tell him that if he doesn't know, that I'm not sure myself where to even begin such a project. But that doesn't mean it would be an impossible task, and may very well be something for someone to do eventually. I'm just not sure that I'm the man for the job. Anyhoo ... I'm happy about finding one, and will let you know if I ever stumble onto another one. Thanks again for the tip. Which means I won't be billing you for the balance. All things considered, I think I did okay. Take care. Bob
