They were a big perfume company (Salon Palmer) . They made a number of bottles in teal and emerald colors.

With the flat side like that my first thought was an Antrol type bottle for killing ants. I would guess that those were sold 2 bottles to a set and they were meant to set end to end. Perty little bottle. Swiz

I would think 1880/90's look at the lip in some good light outside and see if you can see any seam at all going through the lip. Sometimes its very faint. Swiz

That's definitely a keeper.  I have one in my collection as well and it's one of the better and older Palmer bottles.  definitely around TOC possibly a little earlier/later but pretty old.

Hey Matt, Just wondering why you're saying 1920's at the latest? I don't see a seam through the lip and maybe I'm jumping to conclusions on the date. I just assumed most BIM's were 1880/90's maybe TOC and older. Just curious is all. Swiz

automatic bottle blowing machines started being used in the first decade of the 20th century but the practice of hand blowing didnt all stop exactly at that time. I'm sure there were still bottles being hand blown in the teens.

Oh no doubt. The one place I worked at was a knitting mill and one of the machines that's still there in use is over 100 years old. I was just wondering if there was some little tidbit of joy that I overlooked that would help me to date bottles with a greater degree of accuracy. Either way this bottle has a couple things going for it. Color and shape and decent embossing. I like it and wish I could tell you more about it. Swiz

Palmer's company produced products from the late 19th through the 20th century. I would guess that bottle is 1900 +/- 10yrs.

right on, in delaware a company that started in 1918 used an embossed hutch.

ABM cost a fair amount of money, so smaller bottle firms would have stuck with hand finishing techniques for a while, so small bottlers could have easily used hand finished bottles until 1920.
