Hey Annie...

That is sure a nice peppersauce..nice pontil...  hopefully, sooner or later, I'll find a nice pontiled one for my collection.  I think that one would bring about $100.00 or more.  Thanks for posting it.

Cindy,...Nice bottle!...Did that come from the bottle show?....How was your experience selling?....I've been wondering how it went. I have a vr. similar peppersauce but mine has a double collar type lip similar to a citrate of magnesia....but vr. crude...No pontil on mine.I bought mine in an antique shop near Keene. NH.                  Joe

Annie,

Sweet sauce bottle.Starting to like the food bottles, huh?I have seen similar bottles embossed Wells,Miller,& Provost but most are unembossed.I see less of the tapered lip(like yours) than the double collars.A couple years ago you could buy them for $40 or so,but they seem to bring a little more lately. That one looks mint,Congrats.

Hi all - thanks for your replies.  Joe - nice pepper sauce - it is similar to the one I have.  Rick - I'd love to see pics of your two once they've had a rinse!

Doug,
Ever since the long thread about food bottles, I have been keeping an eye out for nice food bottles - usually unusual, non-cathedral pieces.  They don't come up often on ebay, and when they do there is heavy competition for them, so I am hoping to make a few finds at the Baltimore show.  Love to see some more pics of your collection, especially any iron pontiled examples.

You have amassed some great ones, especially the Bunker Hills and round pickles.Who likes those ugly Cathedrals anyway, people should give them away.I think I traded a fluted one like yours away that had an iron pontil.Open pontils are definately more common on those.Rick's 10 sided one is a rarer mold,I hadn't seen before.I collect mainly what I dig but love the cathedral sauces,.I just dug an oversized OP peppersauce I recently dropped off to be cleaned.I am super excited. It was a mold i passed on buying a while back and ended up finding one.I post a picture when it is back from the cleaner.Good luck finding some others.
