On a dig three weeks ago, we went out of town and dug...I didn't find too much, but had forgotten this guy in my bag, and Laur was asking me if it was a stopper to a clear poison,.... would anybody out there know?

I see why you'd think it was for a poison, but my guess is liquor decanter stopper.. which, depending on ones perspective, may or may not qualify as a poison stopper.. Personally, I draw the line at 13.5%.

I would say booze as well.  It is very nice looking.  And not even ground...so possibly later period?

Charlie and Stephen,...thank you for your opinions,...The only thing that I guessed, was the stopper was probably wrapped w/ cork, so it makes more sense to me that it was booze. (although I think I remember cobalt spiked poison stoppers w/ cork too)...Anyhow I was glad to find it that day,...kept me from getting "skunked", it and a marble.
