Collectors might want them to complete a bottle. Mint ones with nice color on the etching that are rare can have a lot of value. I would definitely save them. A collector that has amassed bottles for decades wants this from me, so, I assume that it is quite rare. I found it while scuba diving. I was searching through a trash pile at the bottom of a lake where all of the pieces were broken. I was actually hoping to find broken hutch blobs with the stoppers intact. I remove them and clean them up. So, when I found this, it wasn't too far off of what I was looking for. The first picture shows it exactly how it came out. I have not removed it from the bottle fragment. Oddly enough, the bottle is a loop seal - so this is not the correct stopper for the shard itself. The second (hopefully) shows the etching better. By the way. I have seen a lone stopper (it was quite rare and minty) sell for over $200 on ebay when the economy was better.
