Is there any value to those white porcelain bottle stoppers that went on the blob top sodas. I dig them up all the time, some have writing and others dont. Thanks for any info you can give me.

Hey Mattkoz,
For sure they have some value. Collectors might want them to complete a bottle. Mint ones with nice color on the etching that are rare can have a lot of value. I would definitely save them. I'll post a rare one I found later on this thread (if you don't mind) . . .

Okay. Here is a rare one that I found. A collector that has amassed bottles for decades wants this from me, so, I assume that it is quite rare. I found it while scuba diving. I was searching through a trash pile at the bottom of a lake where all of the pieces were broken. I was actually hoping to find broken hutch blobs with the stoppers intact. I remove them and clean them up. So, when I found this, it wasn't too far off of what I was looking for. The first picture shows it exactly how it came out. I have not removed it from the bottle fragment. Oddly enough, the bottle is a loop seal - so this is not the correct stopper for the shard itself. The second (hopefully) shows the etching better.

By the way. I have seen a lone stopper (it was quite rare and minty) sell for over $200 on ebay when the economy was better. It does show that these can be better than the bottles they're on - sometimes.

Number 2.
(I'm sorry Mattkoz if I just took over your thread). Maybe if people discuss these things, you'll get a better feel for their value???

I believe those are called Hutter closures.
Look on the bottom of the stopper. Many I have dug have the Hutter Co name stamped on them.

There was a guy that used to go around bottle shows wearing a necklace of those and looking for ones he didn't have.
