Hello. I am an archaeology lab intern in Northern Calfiornia. I've come across some bottles that I cannot find in any of our catalogues, collector's books, nor can I find it on any websites. Anyway, these bottles are around 10 inches high, maybe, with a four sided, rounded square body shape, a small parabolic kick-up in the center of the base, a two-part finish, and an embossing on the side, "PRIMROSE SALAD OIL", and below that, "WESTERN MEAT CO", horizontally over the body. The bottlneck is pretty straight, and does it looks lke there is a seating for a stopper or cap within the finish. The question I have is: Where can I find out more about these (please, be specific, I know where I could GENERALLY find out about it as I'm doing this for a living), and WHEN oh WHEN did the Western Meat Co. put their Salad Oil in bottles of this type? Also, was this type of salad oil distributed only on the West Coast, or what? Any sort of help and advice would be most welcome and appreciated. However, I prefer that you would e-mail it to me. So e-mail any info to maverickv1x@aol.com, please. maverickv1x@aol.com Thank you. Benjamin
