Looks definitely TOC or earlier based on the neck seam.  If you could research when the brand was put out you could probably narrow it down a little.   Good bottle since it still has the lable.

I think this is it, 1889-1913. Very nice with the label and the stamp matches so you know it's the right top.
Oh, and BTW, Happy Birthday

Nice item Morris! 1880's-90's considering it's complete and has a different neck style, i'd value it $15-$20.

Hate to be a stick in the mud here, but I see two different kinds of glass (clear and oxidized) on the same bottle.  May just be my computer.

Good eye Rick. Is it coincidental interior stain or a glued on neck? Huh?

Ok Lobe, Assuming that this bottle is stained below the neck, we'll move on to the label.  I cannot get any details from the label on my computer.  Tried to magnify , but that didn't work.  Just seems like there ought to be more info on the label.

Morris, is there any way to get a close-up of that label?  There were two companies that produced their version of "Old Private Stock" whiskey.

I know of several distillaries that used the term Old Private Stock. It's pretty much a generic term used and shared throught the industry. Concerning the label...often a label as plain as this one was used. Like when a super market puts capers in a jar and puts it's own label on them.

Hey guys
My camera is not acting the way I like it to , but when it starts working again I'll post more pictures of the bottle , I found the bottle in a wall of an old house I worked on once , Ive been asking around town when the house was built , I should know in a day or two, The picture I have posted is about as good as it gets , it's a pretty generic lable Later , Morris

Morris, Is this a half pint?
There was a Crigler & Crigler Distillery in Covington Kentucky that was was listed on the Hepburn Dolliver Bill in 1904 as an example of distilleries using different means of spreading alcohol across states lines.  One of the exibits on this bill lists a novelty book that contained a half pint of Woodland Old Private Stock whiskey disguised inside a fake book. This was included in a club package if ordered before Jan 1.  This may explain the plain label.  Not tracable back to the distillery. I thought that this was interesting.  Apparently the distilleries were taking a lot of heat by the toc Temperance Movement.

This whiskey was "Woodland" from the Crigler & Crigler Distillery" .  Of course there were other Old Private Stock whiskeys. And unless someone has the novelty box and bottle, we may never know.

Hey Spence, Did you get a chance to check out that Hepburn- Dolliver Bill on the web?  Man, there's some great history in that bill about the sell of alcohol at that time in history.

The fastest way that I can locate it is by typing  "Hepburn Dolliver Bill" in google search.  Then look for the "HEPBURN DOLLIVER BILL: FULL HEARINGS BEFORE THE COMMITTEE ON THE JUDICIARY OF THE HOUSE. site.

From what I have read so far the Crigler & Crigler Distillery was bypassing the current law by shipping to Express Offices and individuals and also  for distribution by individuals rather than Merchants.  The law allowed individuals to import alcohol for their own consumption. Also note in the letter to the agents selling the package deals , that they were to sell to individuals rather than merchants. Merchants were subject to seizure under the current law.  There is also a mention in one of the letters that the cartons would not be labeled to reveal the contents. It seems that the plain label 1/2 pint could possibly have been one of these bottles packaged in the novelty box.
