Picked up this nice HOLTZERMANN'S BITTERS from George Waddy today. Ran in to a couple of forum members, Jeff Noordsy and Mark{ bomboy]. I heard from quite a few dealers that they were not selling much and I didn't think there were a lot of people there.

George always has great glass and he's a good guy. For the first time I didn't bother to go, bottle sales are horrible. Good time to buy though!

Great bottle cookie!

Nice one.  I purchased a flask from George today at the show. He gave me a good deal.

Sorry I missed you cookie. I met a few forum members today myself. I think I got some decent deals as well. Next time I'll try to sell a kidney before I go so I can buy some of that top shelf stuff. Swiz

It was a pretty good show....attendance was somewhat light.....I made some sales....if any of ya saw someone with all fruit jars on his table in the back room....that was me.....

Some fantastic flasks...wow....but as most said...they were priced...I did see a nice amber pint flask with vertical ribs on it I thought was awesome...from the Louisville Glass Works.....till I turned it over and saw it was over $3G.....yikes...put it down as easy as I could LOL

It was a good time.....met some great folks....talked bottles and jars....good way to spend a Saturday.

Hey were you set up to a guy that had a bird swing in his bottle. If so it was nice to meet you and that bird swing in your cornicopia is a killer.

I had a really good time at the show. I met Swizz and Bomboy, and got to see JPClute again. Thanks for showing me that cool Lammpin, Swizz! I sold very well but only bought one item that I sold later in the show. I thought the quality and numbers of dealers was good, way better than last year when it conflicted with the Conn. show. This used to be my favorite show, but with it now being held on a saturday, and in a smaller venue away from the main drag, I think it has suffered since it was in downtown Saratoga back at the City Center convention hall. I have heard talk that some new blood is planning to help get the show back to its former glory. Lets hope!

I forgot to mention Kungfoofighter who showed up late and made a whirlwind tour of the show. Roy (JPKlute) sold an INCREDIBLE Dexter Loveridges Wahoo Bitters that he dug in a light pink topaz gasoline (insert color here) puce color. Unfortunately it had a small hole in the corner but still sold for a great price. Without the hole I think he could have bought a new truck with what it would have sold for! Sorry I don't have any photos of the show.

Well all I can say is that I wish I could have been there.  I am glad that you have good things to say about George Waddy, because he is a great guy.  He has helped me a lot regarding information on the Saratoga Mineral Water Bottles and I have bought some great bottles from him.
swizzle: Can you tell me anything more about that bird swing bottle.
I will watch for more postings from others.  RED Matthews

Red- George Waddy has always been very helpful to me. When I went to my first show a few years ago he spent a lot of time instructing me about bottles-that was priceless. I enjoy talking with him and he has a nice variety of great glass.

I'll try to get you a short video of my bird swing today or tomorrow. The one dygger60 has it a common bird swing. To see it you have to look down the neck of the bottle and slightly to the side. Its a little more then half way up the flask and goes from the front to the back. Another guy I talked to said that he just cleaned an ink for a guy that has a double bird swing in it. I'd love to see that. Maybe dygger60 can post us a pic of that cornucopia bird swing. some amazing stuff there. Swiz

I commented on the show, but forgot to say what a great bottle you bought. What a sparkler! George does have some great stuff. Did you see the emerald green 1/2 pint Willington eagle he had?
