Does anyone know who the "N" refers to on the Ruby Sloe Gin bottles?? I used to think it meant Ruby 'n Sloe gin, but now I think N was the maker. I recently got a labeled sample size which says that the trademark was registered in 1905, but I can't for the life of me find any information about a city or a maker. The labeled one has a half-cent "Wines and Cordials, Etc."  US tax stamp, so it's American, but the patent and trademark office doesn't seem to have online records that far back. They aren't common bottles, and one of the Kovels' volumes listed the quart at $125-425 or something like that, but I don't think that is accurate. I would like to know where they came from though, I've got one from OH and one from IA and now this sample which came from MA but could have started anywhere. The Iowa bottle was dug there. Any clues appreciated.

Thanks,
Sean

The magic of Photoshop, I just took 4 pictures, aligned them in layers, and erased the bits that didn't match. It's not perfect but it gets the full view anyway. With time and patience (and about ten rather than four layers), you can make one that's almost perfect.
