This jar is of course being advertised as being made in 1858, like several others I've ran across. However this is the only one I've seen with 58 embossed on the bottom. Also this jar has multiple imperfections, something I don't see a lot with Masons. What manufacturer used that logo, I was thinking BALL? Any thoughts as to age or value is greatly appreciated. All the marking are shown in the photos.

Do you have a picture of all the embossing on the jar? The number 58 on the base is a mold # and has nothing to do with when it was made, these jars were made up until the early 1900's and went from very well made to crude crude crude. I personaly like them the cruder the better also these jars have so many variations it would take a lifetime to collect them all if that was even possible. hope this helps
