SS coke factory marks - 1/16/2008 9:25:34 PM    appliedlips Posts: 1868 Joined: 1/30/2005 Status: offline      I was wondering if any of you Southern soda collectors have seen Atlanta or Tampa SS aqua cokes with O B Co. on the back heel?I have one of each that I dug here in Ohio.David Whitten's site list this mark from the Ohio Bottle Co. in Newark,Ohio only in business part of 1904-05 in transition between Everett glass and American Bottle Co..It is the first time I have seen this mark and was wondering how many are out there.Thanks. _____________________________ I WOULD LIKE TO BUY OR TRADE FOR YOUR COLORED,AND OR EMBOSSED CATHEDRAL PEPPERSAUCE BOTTLES.I AM ALSO LOOKING FOR EMBOSSED MIDWESTERN ALES IN ANY COLOR. It would be odd for a glass company so far away to make Georgia bottles. One is an Atlanta Coca-Cola Script at the base of the bottle. The other is from Rome, Georgia, Coca-Cola Script mid-body. Never figured out why they didn't find a closer glass house. I have heard that bottlers didn't like to use the same glass as competitors because they were afraid their secrets would slip out.
