I have some time to contribute and show off what I've added to my collection lately. Here's a group shot of some smalls that I've bought. Extra rare Salem Witch Liquid Smelling Salts w/ stopper, three sided little blue w/ stopper, and a dark bubbly amber OP small cylinder w/ flared lip.

Finally --- I've wanted one of these for my smelling salts collection, since I started collecting - a long time.

Close-ups of the New England ??? OP This was dug in a local pit here in the late 60s. Any ideas, comments?

Next is one that I bought yesterday, instead of digging a surface dump w/ a friend. A Pike's Peak half pint with CEREDO... GXI- 36. It's very dark and doesn't show in these pics. Plus a Stoddard type 1/2 pint amber flask in the back.

It was a nice sunny day here, so I had to take some pics. Another group shot of some others (not all) that I have added. A labeled blue Sharp and Dohme, milk glass and matching SCA cosmetic, and some hard to find locals... Linament and druggist.

Very nice additions, Meech. The Salem Witch has to be my favorite salts bottle of all. Real hard to find, especially with the original stopper.

I don't know if you had time to check out the new Glassworks auction, but they have an embossed bulbous-necked pontiled cologne listed. Thought you might want to check that one out . ~Jim

Meech,

I like the pontiled utility. If it was dug in Va. I would think it was more likely made at a Mid-Atlantic glass house rather then a New England one. If you are coming to baltimore I'd like to see it in person.

Chris

Thanks all -

Jim - I saw that bottle at Glassworks. It has a small issue but I still may give it a bid though. I have my eye on some of the scents and other nice glass too. Can't buy them all, but you can try.

John - bubbas dad - It is rumored that the Luscomb company made these to commemorate the 200 year Salem witch anniversary... this would date it to around 1892. (It is embossed with the year 1692)

Jim - buzzkutt033 - Nice cologne!

Chris - I agree ...given the little info I got on it from the oldtimer that dug it way back when. I'm not sure how reliable the source is though. We get details mixed up as we get older or forget them from time to time.

I'll bring it up when I come... if I remember.

Those are cool. I hope you got a decent deal on that. I have seen people asking crazy prices for them.

Hi Matt -
I paid the most I have to date on any bottle for this one. Although, it wasn't all that much. The few that I've seen sell, have gone for quite a bit. I made the seller an offer that most would consider an insult and they accepted. Kinda shocked me. I would like to think that the seller and buyer are both happy.

Very few have the witch embossed original stopper (which was tightly stuck in this one, but I freed it) and I've seen only one with the outer leather purse.

Hey Chris --- (not sure if you're following this thread, but I can mail you when I know more) -
Wed. night we had our bottle club meeting and a member from long ago remembered this small utility in a newsletter from way back. Apparently, it was dug during a club dig on a very large historical plantation here in Virginia - with permission of course. We are all looking for this newsletter/story to confirm most of this... hopefully before your show.
