I have gained access to the Louisiana maps. If anyone needs a particular town I would be happy to email a pdf to you. But like I said, I can only get the Louisiana towns and perhaps California.

I called Pro-quest today and talked to a sales rep that said their minimum order is $140.oo for about 45 pages of micro-film. Online access accounts are for learning institutions and libraries, She said those accounts are very very expensive. she said the best way was just go to your local or city branch library and use their access.

What I did was find a way to access through a local university. My cousin goes to Louisiana Tech and is able to access the statewide LOUIS network which contains a subscription to the Louisiana Sanborn collection. That is how I got access to the Louisiana maps. Also, while I was searching on the internet I came across a username and password on a California university site which works to access the California maps.
It was quite simple to gain access through the university, as long as you know someone who goes to college. I use his password and can browse them online from the comfort of my home. My local library was no help whatsoever, the lady at the information desk had no clue what I was talking about.
