Had these a while. The green one on the end is new. Interesting bottles. A good way for the new collectors to get their feet wet and display something nicer than a common. Prices are usually under 20 for the clears. The colors go double that, sometimes more. Thought I'd share...

Always a good thing when the wife enjoys your hobby as much as you do. And yeah, for the money they're hard to beat. With more people discovering the hobby the price of quality glass is creeping up at an alarming pace. The lamps have a little bit of everything. Age, interestings shapes, and a few nice colors. Most of them are British imports so the prices are relatively low. Good stuff!

Lobes.

Very nice lamps. We find alot of small whale oil lamps down here. Have dug a few nice parlor lamps too. Got several sitting around here. Here are a few alcohol lamps used by jewelers and watch makers. I really need to dig out some of my other lamps and put up pic of them too.

Very nice lamps.  Have either of you had any luck finding replacement mantles in the small sizes?  I'd like to be able to light this little one.

Yep they get passed of as target balls on unsuspecting newbees. The all say Patd Sep. 14 1880.

Hey Josh, There are companies on the internet who can supply you with what you need right down to the plaster to put the top on.

Bob, You should be able to find a complete clear on on ebay for chump change. That will give you all the parts you need but the parts won't be silver as the clear ones were made after WW1 and are plated. I don't have the silver works for the cobalt one because it is sitting in the wife's cobalt collection and she didn't wat to "mess it up" with all that silver. Harry Pristis had one on his site. Don't know if it is for sale or not but he couldn't find any info on it and didn't know what it was. Being a jeweler/watch maker it was easy for me because I used one all the time. There are supposed to be red ones out there but I have never seen any. I will jump one one if I do.

Hey Anna, These were made from 1882 to 1913 or 1914. after that they were clear and ugly.

I

The aqua aren't silver either. I have one that's just a light grey paint for the base and more like chrome plating for the workings.

Hello Lobey, after never seeing any nice lamps like yours I was looking through the ink category on ebay this morning and found this neat looking amber swirled lamp kind of like yours.

It would look good with your collection.  Just trying to help.    Good luck if you bid on it.    Paul
