Are you sure it is a shoe horn? I would not think they would have a shoe horn and bottle opener on the same tool. I would think it more likely a pie server or something used in the kitchen. Just my opinion though. A shoe horn should be a bit rounded right?

Hey Jim,

Perhaps a combination cake / cheese server and bottle opener...

Interesting name for the Shoe Co. Clearly aimed at women:

"Sorosis was the first professional women's club in the United States. The club was organized in New York City with 12 members in March 1868, by Jane Cunningham Croly. Among its founding members was Fanny Fern, a popular columnist who had been angered at newspaper women being excluded from the all-male New York Press Club when it had an honorary dinner for the author Charles Dickens the month before.[1] Sorosis was incorporated in January 1869. Alice Cary was the first president. Within one year, Sorosis had 83 members.

Sorosis meant "aggregation". Its object was to further the educational and social activities of women, and to bring together for mutual helpfulness, representative women in art, literature, science, and kindred pursuits." From.

I bet it did double or triple duty around the house...

How else are you able to put your shoes on and open a beer w/o getting up from your easy chair?

With a shoe company advertised on it, it should be a shoehorn, but it just doesn't look like one to me. It should be curved, right? Cool item either way.

And all this time I thought Sorosis was a liver disease.

I have a very similar one. It says "Compliments of
THE PEOPLES SANITARY MARKET
        W. JEKEL, Prop.
HOME KILLED AND CURED MEATS "
Platte        Phine 50     So. Dak.

The pickle fork/can opener says " Burkes Variety Store"

I think they are just gifts to get you to come back and buy.

It isn't a shoe horn, it's a spring steel spatula for kitchen use. They're called icing spatulas, but I use them for breakfast and griddle cooking. They are truly superior cooking utensils when preparing eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc., because the blade is so thin, springy and resilient that it can be slid under even the most tenacious bit of burned food with ease, and with care they can easily handle (flip) huge pancakes or omelets without damage.

2 of the ones I have possess an excellent sharp knife-edge from being slid across the metal pans and griddle over the years, which makes them useful for expedient chopping/cutting too. I prefer the old Dexter brand ones. I'll never, ever use a POS plastic spatula again; they are so utterly worthless that they should be made illegal. Seriously. In function, the difference is like picking a penny up off the table with the aid of your fingernails, versus trying to pinch up a penny with no protruding fingernails.
