Jar measures 2 7/8" has ribbed back  base marked with #4. The seams run to the top.The base does not have a machine mark,

Wish we would have found something out on that one. I have the same jar a little shorter dug from a TOC dump. It is 2 1/8" with an I in a circle, Owens Illinois mark, and numbers on each side. The same rectangular indention also. Sorry I had no answer  Marvin

The jar contained a McKesson & Robbins product, and dates in the 1930s or early 40s. They are listed in the poison bottle books, and came in many shapes and colors, all with the same rib pattern.  ~Jim
