I need help from you poison guru's! I dug this tiny little amber poison yesterday. I know that these guys are common in the standard sizes, but what about this size? It is diamond-shaped, reads poison on two of the sides, hobnails on the edges, pretty standard stuff. But it stands only 1.25 inches tall. Applied lip, etc. So do i have a good one here? i will work on getting a better picture, this was just a spur of the moment thing. Its not cleaned yet either.

Not fair, you used a bigger coin!! Just joking, that is an awfully small poison as well. I love finding these little guys in dumps.

Actually, you were right, I'm being a little prankster! I use this indian head as a coaster.. wanna see the smallest can of beer ever?
Yours is very cool! I like the little bottles, too.. they seem to have a higher survival rate in the dumps.
I'd like to see the smallest bottle on the forum.. mine is probably a Humphrey's vial.

BRichardson5 & cyberdigger;  I am interested in the details of the lettering engraved on this little bottle.  Was it a bottom hinged mold?  Whenever lettering gets that close to the shoulder it has to be relieved for a side hinged mold.  I was interested in the mold seams routing.  Nice little bottle.  I have three 30" bottles here by my computer.  It would be the talk subject at a bottle show - to have them side by side.  Nice glass samples.  Thanks  RED Matthews

Here is a better look at lettering and the base. Not hinge mold, and you can see raised dots on the base. Vent marks? Pic is still a little blurry, the 200 kb limit on this site restricts finer photography.

HI; And thanks.  The top of the N no doubt needed some release angle to let the mold open.  The diamond shape also helped.   The  6 would have been a mold number maybe. The dot by it is a vent opening.  They are both nice bottles.  RED Matthews

hey meech its a kv-1. If you search that on the forum you'll find a bit of info. Thats an awfully small one though. The 2 inch to about 4 inch sizes are common and sell for aroun $10 but one that small might be good. Wait for Jim to come around He'll be able to help

I believe that is an unlisted size for the KD-1. It would likely do quite well at auction with poison collectors, but it's hard to put a value on unlisted sizes and variants. Great find for sure!  ~Jim

Hello you guys,  I guess I haven't run into the [KD-1  or KV-1].  I assume this is an I.D. code in some poison book guide or price list.  Please advise me.  I have a few poisons but I have yet to make a study of them.  RED Matthews
