I know this isn't an old bottle, probably from the 40's or 50's, but what was in it? It's half gallon size, about 13 inches tall, really big, but with a ridiculously small mouth. The only markings are on the bottom and they are- 3, a square with 0 in it, and 8. When I found it, it had a cork in the top (although I'm sure that it had a crown top of some sort) and some liquid in it that smelled like kerosene with a corncob floating in it. I assume that someone had put some moonshine in it so the original contents were long since gone. Any ideas on narrowing down it's age or what might have come in it? I thought it was really neat just for it's size so I kept it. Thanks for the help.

Thanks alot. Still new to this so there's alot of markings I haven't run into yet. Apparently, this one was older than I thought. That also helps me date a few more bottles as well. Thanks again

My guess is water bottle maybe?? I've got one pretty similar to yours but its embossed with the company name. Don't have it in front of me right now so can't tell you the name on mine.

I found this bottle on the web, it looks a lot like the one python found. I suppose it could have been water or soda, that is my guess.
