I've been quite slack with posting my recent acquisitions, in fact I don't remember posting anything eBay wise in the past several months. Anyway... I'm too lazy to bring you up to speed now.

Here's a recent buy that I particularly love. It came in the mail today, and boy, was I surprised when I opened the box! I was enamored as soon as I saw it in the glass (flesh?). It looks ten times better than I imagined from the eBay picture. I've gotta say, it's my favorite local crown yet. Something about it just speaks to me. I don't think tooled crowns get as much credit as they should, honestly. This is my first (whole) local with that upward script embossing style. I figure the date is 1910-15, since it has the contents embossed? It's got a cool orange peel effect that's very similar to another local crown I have. I'll post that later. Couldn't find anything about A. Sossin from Orange NJ online, probably not a huge bottler.

A few days previous, I came home from school to find a box sitting on my doorstep. I knew from the outside what it must've been... Big thanks to slag pile digger, who gave me the bottles, and epackage for delivering the box to my house! I didn't have these Edison bottles yet, common as they are. Any time you don't have to pay for a common bottle, it's a good day... The blue one is BIM and almost mint, except for a chip on the lip. Still looks nice though.

Now the question becomes, who will the next recipient of this box be? Eeny, meeny, miney, mo...

I think the original post was unclear, this bottle was from eBay. Payed $8.99 plus shipping for it, but after seeing it in person, I'd have paid twice that!

Thats the beautiful texture of a fairly crude untumbled bottle. Beautiful!!! I love the edisons from Orange! Didnt realize they got that old. I always dig the same exact common later ones down here. Those ones have some nice character. Gotta love the packaging.

Hello everyone!  I am new to this forum as I have said in an earlier post. I will try not to bore you with a ton of details but I would like you to know why I am here.

My friend and I have a small local bottle slumping (aka: melting)  business so we are always looking for unique bottles.  I came upon an auction where they were selling 55 gallon drums of vintage bottles.  I was there by myself.  So, as it turns out, we ended up with 22 barrels of bottles, hence the name.

These bottles are so cool!  I just don't want to slump anything that would be of value.  Plus, I have kept a few because they are beautiful.  We have old soda, beer, liquor, medicine, perfume, bleach, etc.  I was going to list the barrels on craigs list until I started researching.  That is when I came across this forum.

So far, from what I have read, you all seem to be knowledgeable and I thought, rather than craigs list, why not start here.  I have no idea what we have so I am posting a few pictures.  This is the tip of the iceberg!  SO MANY BOTTLES!!!

I would really appreciate your input.

Nice stuff good sir. Fitting that the Orange soda has the orange-peel effect, eh?

The rarest are West Orange ones. They're BIM and aqua, and are the earliest of the battery oil bottles. Edison's lab in Orange burned down in 1915, so all the Bloomfield bottles are all newer than that year... And they're all dirt common.

Didn't even realize that! Haha what a coincidence. Now I need to find an orange colored bottle...
