Hi all, I wanted to show you all an example of an extremely rare Coke from Fort Scott Kansas. This one belongs to a good friend of mine. There is a shoulder script that is available and is listed as Scarce in Porter's guide. It's not real hard to find. This slugplate variation tho is much earlier, and is pretty much just not found. Talking with him and other SS collectors, this makes the third one any of them have seen or heard of. I'm sure there's others out there of course, but in all the conversations i've had as well as some other SS collectors, those are what we know of. One had quite a bit of case wear, and sold on eBay a few years back. The other had the top knocked off of it. This one is a beauty. He actually just purchased it from a bottle collector in Ft. Scott who's had it on a shelf in his house for over 25 years. Needless to say he was stunned like I was to find one. I love the embossing on this guy and how they spelled Co under Coca Cola. There's also a middle script (no slug) that's pretty rare, but this one from there is the toughest of all. Anyhow, I thought you might enjoy seeing a few photos. All the best, ~Tim [image]
