Hey Ben... The series of rings on the base of your jug is often referred to as a "Thumb" print or "Finger" print because it looks like the one on your finger or thumb. That indicates that yours is probably a bit older. A different method of removing the piece from the potters wheel. Niether one is Ovoid. They appera to be late 1800's 1870's to 1890's and Cap is right, they usually go for 20 to 25 dollars for the plain ones. When you have some identifiable embossing they go up a little in value and if you have some blue glazing and decorations they go real high. If they have painted birds, animals, eagles... they go sky high in value. You'll see a lot at the bottle show. We'll hook up... There is a stoneware dealer that will be there, I think his name is Dave Grassi and he has written a couple books on stoneware items. Wayne Ovoid jugs are the earlier ones.
