Hi everyone!  I have recently become very interested in bottle collecting.  It all started a couple of weeks ago when I bought a cigar box full of bitters bottles.  Now I'm hooked!  Well, a few days ago I bought a very strange bottle at a flea market.  If anyone has any information about it, I would to hear it!  ;)  There are no markings on the bottle, just the raised flower detail.

Thanks!!

Looks like a recent bottle you would buy at Home Goods or Target stores.
Same color as those.

Hey Marjorie, Here is a pic of the bottom. After reading the rest of the posts, it looks like it might not be too valuable.  But it sure enough is pretty neat.  Thanks everyone!

Hey Tony,  I just recently sold 11 small bitters on ebay.  BUT, I did buy 3 more at the same flea market.

hey there awilliams..newbie to newbie conversation time

around 40-50 years back alot  of...well not knock offs  but  never  used fantasy bottles were made.some ideas from originals  (that tiny  booz cabin).among them some of yours. i personally have  seen about  7  different  takes  on your first bottle  colors  slight pattern variations...its  from  1990-present ....others were put  out  by  country  stores and  small glass places  to  try  to catch the allure and  appeal of old  bottles.(people always  need a link to their past) .although  newer 2 (years)  to this  hobby and also  easily  fooled at  first..dont  give  up  there are bottles  to be  found  out there ! there are alot  of  ways  to get better at  noticing newer bottles! im sure  everyone here will probably  drop some hints i will miss but here are some guidelines...

bubbles usually arent  present in newer glass. and if  so are tiny

if it says  wheaton nj on the bottom and has a indent  representing a pontil it isnt old

glass after 1900 (i think its more like 1896  and i dont mean to ramble  anyone please correct me if i am wrong)......  will have lines..kinda like you see on a  glass beer bottle those are known as seams . glass before  this point  either has seems  ending lower then the  top of the bottle the lower generally the older .depending on the bottles  top.. and sometimes   they will have  no mold  lines
Older bottles ... will have  a  glass circle located on the  bottom.that is a  raw   chippy little  glass circle.sometimes appearing to be  open into the bottle  this  is known as a pontil  this  usualy dates the bottle pre1870. it was caused  when snapping an iron rod (used in the glass blowing process) was snapped from the bottles bottom..

glass ripples .whittle marks.crude blobs of glass.
objects blown in glass(rocks etc) are all other good hiunts  to an older bottle

ask any question you want around here. these people have all helped me ..and  if you wish to pursue your hobby they can do the  same for you..good people ...good times..i hope i helped a little bit....dig long and prosper.... Eric jayy

Hey, Eric!  Thank you so much for the info.  I learn so much everyday.  I am VERY new to this but it is so addicting.  I bought a couple of bottles today that have a pontil (I think).  They have the circle mark on the bottom like you said and the seam lines do not run to the top.  I'm not sure if I got anything good or not, but it's fun anyway!  Thank You!!!!!!!
