Hi all, I picked this up from a collector friend of mine that lives down in Arkansas. He went on a buying trip in Texas a couple weeks ago and came back with about 6 or 7 flasks. There was a very interesting story with the bottles he purchased. I'm not sure of the town he went to (i'd have to ask him), but he came across an elderly couple that had bottles in the window of their place. Again, not sure if it was a residence or a business. Anyhow, all of them had an old yellowed sticker from 1958 and the price. It was quite a thing to see. There was an aqua Union clasp hands 1/2 pt for $5.00, an aqua Calabash for $7.50, and this quart open pontiled tree for $12.50. The others had prices as well but I can't remember exactly. Apparently the couple tried to sell them way back in the day then, but never did sell them, and haven't been for sale again up until he inquired about them. He ended up buying them all, and needless to say gave more than the sticker price! I'm not sure of the McKearin number, as I normally am not a historical flask collector. This is one that I got from him today. It's got a nice cool nasty open bottle, and free of any damage. I've never had one of these but was sure happy to get it. All the best, ~Tim [image]
