Status: offline 		There are only a small handful (4 or 5) of these and this example is a perfect piece, I just need to clean it out a bit. Got it really cheap and I couldn't be happier. I grew up with a family with the last name Keller in Totowa and I need to find out if they were related in any way....Jim

Status: offline 		Nice one, Jim. I love local druggist bottles and dose cups. In my opinion, they are probably the most underrated type of locals. A lot of the ones I have are known by only one or two examples. I love researching the history behind them, which can be just as interesting as that of the beers and sodas.  ~Jim

You know I like locals. I have a few meds myself, including a very rare one from the Glen Ridge Pharmacy, which started in 1911 and is still in business... It's a block away from my school and a few blocks from my house, so very local. Cool history I'm sure!

Congrats on adding another key piece of the Paterson puzzle.

Here's a starting point for your research:

"Frank J. Keller, N. Y. C. P.. '94, who is at present studying medicine at the Long Island College Medic.il School, ha' purchased the drug store of Dr. E. W. Doty, Totowa and Wayne avenues, Paterson, N. J." Status: offline 		That's the guy and the store Surf, has me thinking this may be from right around 1900. I would think at a later date they would have used the exact address instead of the two cross roads on the bottle....

Hey Jim,

I agree on the "Corner of..." wording as generally being an indicator of earlier age, at least from the digging that I've done.

Dr. E.W. Doty didn't fare well after the sale: "Dr. E. W. Doty, who is ill at the residence of  D.S. Allen, is now in a very serious condition." From the Dover Iron Era, August 18, 1905, page 5 Personals http://www.rtlibrary.org/iron_era/1905/1905-08-18.pdf
