I was making some signs today for the welsh cottages I was talking about.  They had a group of college kids in there teaching them how to do a dig.  I know they found a clay marble and some shards but the find of the day was mine.  On the way over to get some tools out of my truck in the parking lot I found this little quartz point.  The archie guys flipped when I showed them!  They said it was called a Teardrop Ross Point???  I donated it to the cause. at least I know it will stay in town

Nice! You seem to be doing better there by just looking down than they are digging! Sounds like that's going to be a great experience.

One of the guys in the Archeology Society named Jack says he is an experimental Archeologist, in other words, he tries to replicate the artifacts he finds and then use them.  The guy seems very knowledgeable on primitive skills, etc.  He said he thinks the point I found is really a drill, the sharp end hafted to a shaft and the rounded end used as the drill.  He said some archeologists think these teardrops are points but he disagrees and his reasoning seems sound.
