Collecting Southern bottles is it for me. I do mostly S.C.-N.C. and Ga. bottles, but my brothers and sisters to the West got some good ones too. So if ya live there ya might reconize some of these. The V8 is from Memphis-Rainbow,Brownsville and Lookout but from where else but Chattanoga.

The V8 is very cool. I need to pick up one for my old Ford junk collection. That was the Ford emblem for the flathead powered cars in the 30s, 40s and 50s.

Hey Cap. didn't know you were a Ford Man. Can you tell me what this was used for. I had an old Gentleman, as well as another Fellow tell me this was from the 1920s or 1930s. It looks like a template to me. It is made of solid brass, measuring 5 5/8" high at the center of it, by 15 3/4" long. Is this something that hung off the front or back of a certain model Ford, or is it possibly just a template that someone made ?

You've got me wanting one of those V8 bottles as well. A very nice looking bottle indeed.

Hey Louis, If you look at my blood under a microscope you will see little blue oval platelets that have the Ford script on them.

That is neat as hell but it is not an original Ford item. It was probably made by someone tinkering because the script is wrong. As I said, neat as hell.

Well, that answers that question ! Thanks for the info Warren, now that I know it has nothing to do with a dam thing, I am going to throw it out in the wood shop and use it for a stencil. I started to bring another thing in out of the garage and take some pics of to show you, but left the stupid thing out there. It is a heavy paper or cardboard  (as it is called) a picnic box. It has some nice graphics on it, with a car that looks as though it might be from the 30s. It's specific use was to pack a lunch to take with you when traveling. The box is marked The Kroger Company of Cincinnati. It is in like new condition. It would look great sitting on the back seat of an old car at a show. I have had it for a good number of years, will take some pics of it when I get to it again, and send them to you. I have different odds and ends of old car parts, should be listing them on eBay, but lately, I have been too lazy to do so. I have got where I car very little for eBay, guess that is the reason.

Now that sounds interesting Louis. i have seen some of those before and they came with all kinds of graphics. I like to see old car parts too. I used to have alot of reall old parts on the walls of my shop before Ivan blew the damn thing down and crushed everything. New shop has caused me to start looking again although some of the signs will be very hard to replace.

What the heck Warren, went out and got it. then came back in replied to you added a pic, just to find I had timed out and did it all for nothing. But here we go again for a second time. The box is not in super nice condition as I was thinking it was, but still in all, it is very nice and I think it displays quite well, especially considering its age.. Here are some pics of it below, first one being the top.

Or do you need a stock radio for a 61 or 62 Ford ?? It is probably good, it was in a another radio box, looks like someone bought a new radio, and replaced the stock one.

Great "Tote Box". That is what my mom calls them. The word tourist begain getting really popular in the 1920s and early 30s as people became able to afford better things. Little did the know what was just around the corner.
