I have an ad in the local paper to buy bottles this week and got a call about a collection of soda bottles.  The guy has been collecting for years and finally wants to get rid of all but the bottles from his town.  I got about 250 bottles, about 200 Texas and the rest other states.  Here is the Texas hutchinsons.

This is the only closeup I have so far.  Bottles from Cuero Texas that I am trying to sell right away to a collector there.

I'll post some more pics when I get them.  There are 20 squat aqua blob top sodas from other states.  NY, Pa, Md, De,... and about 20 other states Hutchs.  I'll show some of those in another post after I get pics.  I don't know which ones might be common or scarce.

I second the Nice score! I'd be interested in a list of the NY hutches you might have in there. Would you know if these were found in that region?

I know it is a long shot, but if there is a Denton TEX or Lewisville TEX hutch or crown I would be interested in them.  Good score sir.  Glad to see you get something like this.

Brad,
I know there's not a Hutch from there.  The crowns I haven't looked at closely yet but I don't remember any.
He let me pick so I didn't buy all the bottles.  I looked through the Texas hutchinsons first and picked 17 that I wanted and he quoted a unit price.  Higher than garage sale price but cheaper than bottle show.  Then I went through the crowns and picked 7 cases full.  While he was figuring up the total I looked through the Texas hutchs again that I didn't pick the first time.  Some were common and some had damage and some I already had.
He said, since you're buying this much you can have the rest of the Texas hutchinsons.  What a deal!

Al,
The out of state bottles were not dug here.  He bought them at flea markets and antique shops and even some on ebay.  Funny thing, 3 of the hutchinsons I bought had MY original price stickers on them from about 8 years ago.

This seems like a pretty amazing deal. I usually find one or two bottles at a time. And almost all of them from your state! Great score!

The turkey is there because a yearly festival of the Cuero turkey trot.  It is the thing that the town is known for.  A advanced collector I know has a ceremonial saddle that was awarded at the first trot ever.  Talk about a killer go with.  I have one really nice drug store bottle from Cuero.
