We found a hole to dig behind an 1860ish house. Long story short, we found a "Boerhaves"(I think)"Holland Bitters" Pittsburgh Pa. damaged, a broken crock, A super little mini pumpkinseed, and several other bottle out of the first few feet of ashy fill. It's a super-soft ash layer before the cap. then back to ash and then use layer. We have it probed to atleast 9 feet. Haven't found the walls because we didn't get started digging until 7:30. I hope this place pans out. It looks real good so far.

Here's a few more photos of my take.

Notice the muck and water in the bottom.

I picked out four bottles. The Standard oil is damged.

A Moores and Ross Crock from Columbus, Ohio

and a Daisy Style butter churn in  int condition. It came out of the vacant house.

Where are the pictures of the pottery pitcher and the stoneware lid and bowl all cleaned up? The pitcher is sitting on top off the wall and the lid is on the ground next to me.This is me all worn out from loading buckets of mud and muck all day.

Hey Zane, Geat dig.  I was looking through one of my bottle books the other night and saw a pattern flask similar to yours.  It was listed as a whisk broom flask.  And I guess that would make it a figural.  Great Dazey Churn, don't let my wife see that thing.  She has been after me for ages to buy her one, and like Spence said they go for over a hundred down here.  By the way, is Your wife doing ok Now ?
