Pre-ground started off in paper lable tins. These are from the mid 1920s.

By the 30s we had the painted tins.

These are the ones I like. These are between 1942 and 45. Hard to find w/ the lable intact. How do I know the years? These are war time glass jars they needed the metal for the war effort. Then after the war they went back to the tin and continues till today.

All started with Maxwell house didn't it?  I think I remember reading that the Maxwell house hotel started selling their ground coffee to guests who wanted to take some home...
