I think I'm finding too many dumps!
Having said that,I guess there's never too many, just too little time.\
Last couple I've dug have been a good distance from home. This year i'm going to dig this one, which is about a 2 min. walk from the house.
Hard to say the age, probably 1900-1950's,i have an aerial photograph taken about 1955
and it shows part of the dump.
At that time there were no houses anywhere close, now there's a couple on the edge of the ravine, built on the dump!.
I've got a good feeling about this one. There are also lots of broken insulators,so Ma Bell may have dumped here.

It's always nice to see a few tree's uprooted,a hole started,a good sign.

I shoulda known you guys are getting snow up there....It's been raining like heck here. You have yourself a sweet little website there....nice bottle up for sale too....did you dig em all? I know you must be digging some good bottles up there...I Just love to see pics of the stuff everybody digs...it's like a visual education of what kind of different bottles come from different geographical locations...the stuff I find here is probably a lot different from the stuff you dig up there. GOOD LUCK WHEN YOU GO OUT DIGGING!

Hey Ontario-
How far are you from Port Huron/Sarnia, or Detroit? I's love to dig with you some time, if you need a partner. I am near Flint.
I am also looking for an Ontario hutch, if you come across it. It is an aqua Hutchinson embossed L. Jodouin. Bottled around 1894 in the Sudbury, Ontario, Canada area.
Let me know.
Bill

Hey Scott,

How far from a current calendar are you? Theses kind of communications might work better as PM's.

Old posts being brought back up is just one of surfaceone's pet peeves,You might want to email Canadianboy, since Pm's won't do any good if the person doesnt log in.

It's been nearly 6 years since the last post in this thread and Dave no longer lives at that house. He's about 3.5 hours away from Alliston, I'm sure you could find something way closer than that. Alliston probably has a few nice dumps nearby, not to mention Barrie, Bradford, Newmarket, Tottenham, Borden, any of those small towns around your area would have had at least one dump and most would have had several.. Look for low lying areas around creeks or swamps or do some exploring past the end of dead end roads on the edge of town.
