We got into a 1850 yard, but the pit we dug first was 80s & 90s stuff,The older pit is there some where.
I got a good ole Paw-Paw and a poison, I forget what it said I think it was a Wyeth & bro with triangle nob's around it.I will send more pix tomorrow.
It was mostly common stuff, house hold goods. We got a few strap sides.and some nick knacks.
It was good to get back in to a pit! we have one to do next door also I hope the people drank like fish.

Cool Paw Paw! I have a small one of those, but have never dug the full-size one yet. That old pit is there, I hope you're able to stab it out. ~Jim

I like the little blue-banded pitcher. That is a Wyeth poison, KO-45. They are fairly common, but it's one that I've never dug yet. Wyeth poisons come in several varieties, I personally like the one you found with the warning spikes around the edges. There is also one that looks like a little shotglass, but it was actually a small jar for tablets with a wood cap. ~Jim

We went back to fill the pit in today,The home owner went to California for a week and said take your time, so thats what we are doing
We went back to fill it in,but never got to it because we started to dig into the back fill on the walls. We got a few pontil cylinder,3 different smashed* colored sodas 2 cobalt blue one green, and a whole stone beer. from the signs in the backfill, that pit was built in the 70s but it may have been dipped in the earlier years, because the house is 1850 and that yard is mighty small.I probed and can't find the 50s (yet) We will try one other spot when we fill this one in.Then on to the next yard.
I hope the guy who lived there had a nagging wife, and he drank him self senseless hahaha!

Pauly  telling the neighbors about our wonderful hobby, and how this big mess will soon be gone
Then its my trun to ask her to dig a big hole in her yard hahah!

Rick,

Is that Seitz top from a Seitz Weiss Bier, Philadelphia Pa.?  Found 2/3 of a teal blue multipaneled version with plain blob while "fishing" around Cape Fear last weekend.  Of course it was perched in muck to look like it was whole - I pulled it out to reveal missing bottom.  Still have empty feeling in my gut from the experience...

That is a "Munyon's Paw-Paw" yes?  Very cool bottles they are - I read an article recently that dated them to the late 90s to early 00s, stuff was supposedly  produced at some sort of resort/spa on a small island off florida or georgia coast.  Perhaps I can dig up the link.

yeah E that top is from a J.W Wise.We found pieces from a wise and a few busted Seitz in the wall. That pit was dipped over the years and the (real old ****) was prob dipped clean. That Paw-Paw  was some sort of tonic for the skin, made from the Paw-Paw tree.
We have another pit to do, we start tomarow mabey the old stuff is still on the bottom of this one.

Still look like cool bottles to me.  I haven't seen "weiss" style beer bottles in the south before - the broken one in the Cape Fear was a helluva bottle = 8-sided, deep aqua/tealish color, with ridiculously crude blob applied to a oddly long-neck   I should have probably takaen a pic of it but I am not good at handling such heartbreaks.

Here's the link to Munyon's history - I had thought that all Munyon's bottles had to be post 1903, but through contemplating further (always difficult when working with small brain); 1903 is just the date that the Munyon Spa was opened on Munyon Island.  Dr. Munyon likely was peddling his paw-paw meds long before branching out into spa business.  This sets my mind at ease since I have a couple Munyon's with crude snap case (excuse old terminology here) molds that appear to date back to at least the 1880s.  I had often wondered how these could be so "new."
