My baby girl turned nineteen Saturday we had crabs and a nice party.  Earlier that day I attended my wife's Aunt's estate sale and here's some of the glass I bought.  Some depression glass including the shaker, the mug says FLACCUS BROS/ WHEELING W.VA. makers of some very cool jars I didn't know they did pottery.  Got a couple of banjos and I wrapped this one up and gave it to her as part of her birthday presents - the little red souvenir root beer mug is engraved with her great grandmother's name JENNIE and Wildwood NJ 1905.  She was named after her.

And yesterday on Father's Day I had a great day and around dinner time went and visited with a 90 year old neighbor who owns land that touches mine.  I've been meaning to do this forever and she told me many great stories of the old days and we talked of quarries, gold discoveries, springs and many other things on her land.  I told her I was interested in history and a bottle digger and she gave me permission to check out a couple foundations and said she'd look in her basement for jars for me.  I took a walk on her place after our talk and wasn't looking when I found part of a quartz point.  Soy beans are trying to grow here now but I'll be back when its cleared to look for more.

Looks like a good weekend for sure!  Great pic of the turtles and arrowhead!  Sometimes, you find them when you're not even looking, or is it them finding you??  When I was 14, I stepped out of the car at the site my aunt and uncle were building a house, and there was a point right at my feet.  The point was broken, but I was so happy!  At the same site, my Mom decided, in a different spot, that she was going to find one too!  She dug, with permission, all day.  She found a nice crock piece, I remember and a broken off arrowhead.  I sure wish I could go back to that site and dig.  In the woods behind it is a newer dump, but back then, my Mom and I knew nothing about bottles.

I sure hope you can go back and look for more arrowheads.  Great post.  Sorry to ramble!  I thought you might find it interesting because we are fom the same area.  I did check into it, and could only find the Susquehannocks that were living there.  I'm not certain which tribes lived in Baltimore County.  The same Aunt's Mom was quite old, and had stories of Indians "running around", back when her house in Jacksonville, MD was built.  Just some info I find interesting.  Thanks, Steve!

P.S.  I heard they used to find arrowheads where Hunt Valley Mall was located.  Pretty interesting, considering it's on Shawan Rd.

If only I could go back, but I guess you can't go home again!  I miss the snowballs "What the heck are those?". they say here lol.  The crabs are amazing, etc.  No one here is interested in arrowheads, so I don't know where to look.  The Seneca tribe certainly would't want me on their reservation, unless I knew one of them, so it's tough finding a spot.  I would only be looking for surface arrowheads of course, not disturbing anything else!

Fred and I found half of a milkglass boat or ship while digging an old homestead site a couple of weeks ago.....Did any of the flaccus ships have an outside paddlewheel?                              Thanks, Joe

or cow poop!.............that's some deep chit!

Tom Brown believes if you follow your inner self you can find anything  (but not without years of training to do so) Anybody ever read him?

I would like to get a copy of the Loch Raven history book.  Flaccus bros made some very nice jars with steers heads and stags heads, lots of flourish some cool colors, I think they had milkglass jars? too.
