Unusual Druggist bottle - 9/7/2005 6:30:23 PM    Ye Olde Prospector   Posts: 614 Joined: 1/23/2005 From: Bath, Maine Status: offline I dug this unusual druggist bottle here in Bath,Maine. It is round 1" X 2 1/2" and only embossed on the base. Embossed S.ANDERSON & SON/PHARMACISTS/BATH,MAINE. I have other Maine druggist bottles with an embossed circle on the front about the same size but this is the only one I have seen with all embossing on the bottom. I have quite a collection of Maine Druggist bottles I have dug over the years. Anderson's Drug store was in business from the 1860's till well into the 1900's. Attachment (1) Post #: 1

Lucky I am always looking for small embossed bottles, almost missed this one, figured it was just another little plane jane bottle til I noticed the embossing on the base. When the town burned in the 40's a lot of the businesses went too. Any from Brownfield, Denmark, Fryburg or the area near Conway NH? I have one Fryburg Dairy but haven't seen much else. Also, nice idea to do druggist. There may be a lot but they also tend to be smaller. How do you display them? Do you do a large shelf of each county? Oh, and one for Portland.
