Here is a Sprite bottle that is in clear glass.  Came from the Houston Coca Cola Bottling plant. It has a dark liquid in it, just so you can see the ACL better.

Another view with no contents.  I had never seen one like this before. Anyone else ever see one like this?

I have seen these come up from time to time.  The ones I haveseen were from Houston, TX. One had a cap that said "Sprite Rootbeer".  I am guessing they were test market bottles for flavors of Sprite other than Lemon Lime in the Houston, Texas area.

I found out what the deal is with this Sprite bottle. Someone from Coca-Cola told me this: "We bought the Sprite trademark from the Houston Coca-Cola bottler around 1955 and introduced Sprite nationwide in 1961."  So-it started out as a local bottlers 'flavor' line. (Rootbeer, Orange, Grape, etc.) Then Coca-Cola Company bought the rights to it.   Pretty good find!

Well you learn something everyday. I never imagined Sprite being anything other than a Coca Cola brand from the start. Cool.
