tony, nice looking bottle. here's a link to an upper 10 bottle from earlier in the forum. yours appears to be older but the link has a little info.

Hi Tony I would guess yours is a newer one because it says Royal Crown Bottling Co. instead of Nehi Bottling Co. the company started as Chero-Cola then after Nehi took off it was changed to Nehi Bottling Co. and then Chero-Cola was reworked into Royal Crown then that took off and they changed the name to Royal Crown Bottling Co. so yours is almost definately newer than the one in the older post.

Still a nice bottle! i have been meaning to get one myself but havent gotten around to it sort of been hoping to find one

tony your bottle is from the early to late 50's and the one in the other post is from the the late 50's to mid 60's. both nehi and royal crown were bottling drinks during those time frames. nehi's name was dicontinued around 1965. the labels with the horse and buggy were used in the late 40's until the mid to late 50's. some time in the late 50's the label was changed to the style in the other post.

BnB this is for you. It started off as Chero-Cola co. had some trouble w/ Coke. Cheros flavored drinks were called Melo then Nehi. And you were right they were popular there are several stories how Nehi got its name. In 1928 Chero changed to The Nehi Corp.. Chero did not turn into RC which came out in 34 to compete w/ Coke. RC was at first a ginger ale put out by Chero in around 1912. Lastly Chero was bottled till the 1950s when it just faded away. Also go to after 1900 where the story of how 10-2-4 Dr. Pepper is told. Not trying to be a know it all just like the facts straight.
