Uraniam slag glass playing cards - 4/4/2004 9:57:30 PM    tazmainiendigger Posts: 973 Joined: 11/21/2003 From: State O Maine Status: offline Here is something I bet you wont find every day at the old bottle dump! I found these slag glass cards last fall in the old farm dump across the brook from my house here in maine. The "cards" measure 3 1/2" X 2 1/4" X 5/8" These cards "glow" a brilliant yellow under a long wave fluorescent lamp, no doubt from a radioactive activator additive in the glass... Has anyone ever seen these before and I wonder what they used them for?? Attachment (1) Post #: 1

I'm going to give my new friends at the antique marble collectors a quest to find info. I believe they might be produced by one of the old marble companies, Akro Agate, Pellitier.
