Here are three new additions to my collection - all open pontiled utilities - a flared lip, tapered lip, and outward rolled lip....   Due to space restrictions at my house, I have downsized from demijohns to these small little bottles.

I sure wish this one was a puce utility from Baltimore!  One day I'll have a puce bottle, but I haven't had one yet.  This one is a very dark amber, and I'm not sure of its origin.

The base is so jagged that it needs felt pads to stand upright....

Three more little bottles..... a later Turlington's, an Owl Drug, and an open pontil, flared lip D. Evans Camomile.

Another reason I can't have demijohns sitting around my house anymore.....(thanks for indulging me on this one - I happen to love the little guy and I know you've already seen him before!)

Great finds Cindy. You can get many more pontiled utilities and puff than you can demijohns and in many more colors. Also unless beasty there learns how to fly they can be displayed out of reach. He looks so innocent.

Nice pair of utilities, Paul!  I find it hard to believe that a flared lip bottle can survive being buried - they are so fragile!

You're right, Warren - the variety of utility bottles out there is endless, and pretty affordable, if you like the unembossed ones, which I do.  Chase can't fly yet, but he is a surprisingly good jumper - and despite those big choppers, he is not a bit fierce - he is 70 pounds of pure affection!

The story of those undamaged bottles is this...I was probing in the basement of an old house...it had a dirt floor.  Apparently there had been at one time a wooden floor over the dirt which had rotted away.  Someone had been lifting a short floorboard up and dropping the bottles underneath.  Thats how they survived undamaged, along with these others. I also got an aqua Harrisons, which I sold, and some dozen others, but these 4 I kept.
