Hello to all, This is a bottle from right here in Richmond, Va. This info is from the book: quote:
Bottled in Richmond 1819 -1920 by Vernon Grant Valentine' s Meat Juice Works - Mann S. Valentine, prop. 1874 - 1877 they were located at: 21 S. 13th St. 1878 - 1883 they were located at: Main and Cary and 11th & 12th St. 1886 - 1920 they were located at: 601-05 E. Cary St. Manufacturers of Valentine' s Meat Juice and Valentine' s Meat Juice & Glycerine. They seem to be quite common around here. I' ve only dug one myself. One with a lable (triangle shaped) is more collectible - of course. A portion of the lable reads: quote:
The result of an original Process of Preparing Meat and extracting it' s Juice, by which the elements of nutrition (most important to life) are obtained in a state ready for immediate absorption. quote:
Directions.--- Dissolve one tea-spoonful of the Preparation in two or three table spoonfuls of cold or moderately warm water. The Use of Hot Water changes the character of the preparation. Enclosed is a PIC ...I guess this is the bottle that you mentioned. Many people love these bottles and their shape.
