Got this in the mail today. The picture ,when I bought it, was a bit fuzzy but the price was worth taking a leap.
It is the most unusual vet bottle I have seen. It is embossed Man or Animals. The triangle has a bottle with something wrapped around it. On the base is a British registration number that puts it being made in 1893. I have no idea what it was or who made it.

Melinda,...is that some sort of critter with it's tail wrapped around the bottle? Cool bottle, glad you got it! Also I have a bottle from Penn Digger that I need to photograph (probably tomorrow) for you....I'll be in touch....

In the description it said a snake wrapped around a bottle. Up close, with a magnifying glass, it almost looks like little feet on what ever it is.

I figured it must be a liniment. Not too many internal medicines that were switched between man and animals although there are some. These small bottles would not go very far on a horse...about two knees worth in this bottle.

Hey Melinda, that's so cool. That TM looks really detailed in the pic. The whateveritis looks like it has a dorsal fin and even the bottle looks embossed.
If your real curious maybe you could join up HERE and ask. They may know more. Of coarse you could wait for deepblue, and others too.

I pulled out the magnifying glass to try and look real close. It does seem to have embossing on the bottle . That creature, if that is what it is, is odd.
I did join the British Bottle Forum but don't have the time to go there very often and have had some trouble down loading pictures. It may be worth a try to ask about this one.
I have tried to find other vet collectors through British and Australian sites but no luck. I was hoping to pick their brains for information.

It is not something I am familiar with..the base that is. More like a base for a sauce bottle.

I'm bumping this because it just plain fascinates me. I sure hope someone can ID that critter TM.

Is there are resource for British trade marks? I don't know if that would be possible ..there has to be thousands even if you just stick to 19th century trademarks
