Have several old towns that I spend my time searching for some artifact from their existance. At one of my locations, small town that was on stagecoach route, I have been able to find nothing. Town went out of business when RR bypassed it. Found this shard and cannot find any info on year. After 4 visits this is the only item I have found.
"PROPERTY OF, WILLIAM ROLL, TRADEMARK, S.D.,REGISTERED, BLUE ISLAND, ILL"
Not sure if this is from time period I'm searching or not.
Any help appreciated

all have a good un....

Hi Shermanville Ill -

In my 1925 Universal Bottlers Encyclopedia William Roll is the sole bottler listed from Blue Island (pop. 15,000). He was located at 252 Canal Street. Hope this info helps.

-Sam

P.S. - I wonder what the S. D. on the bottle stood for?
